Chiswick School Sixth Form Celebrates Outstanding National Ranking for A Level Progress

This week, the Department for Education (DfE) released national progress and attainment data for A Level qualifications, and Chiswick School is delighted to celebrate the exceptional progress made by its sixth form students. Chiswick School is ranked 125th out of 4,350 schools nationally, including those in the independent sector, and 52nd among state schools, placing it firmly in the top 3% of schools across the country.

The school’s sixth form has seen remarkable growth, doubling in size in recent years to accommodate over 400 students. Students study a wide range of A Level and vocational qualifications, which are opening doors to universities, apprenticeships, and exciting career pathways.

Chiswick School’s sixth form is renowned not only for its excellent teaching but also for its extensive extracurricular programme, which continues to expand each year. To support the growing number of students, a dedicated sixth-form café was added last year, providing a bespoke space for independent study and socialising. Additionally, the school runs a unique ‘give back hour,’ where every sixth-form student volunteers weekly to contribute to the school and local community. Activities include tutoring younger pupils, assisting in lessons, supporting lunch duties, and giving tours to visitors.

Beyond the classroom, students benefit from a diverse programme of external speakers, events, and educational trips. This half-term, history and politics students will travel to Washington and New York as part of their studies, exemplifying the breadth of opportunities available at Chiswick School.

Headteacher Laura Ellener commented: "We are immensely proud of our students and teachers for their hard work and dedication, which have led to these outstanding results. Our sixth form is growing in popularity because we not only deliver a robust academic programme but also ensure students have access to enriching experiences and opportunities that prepare them for their futures."

Chiswick School continues to set a high benchmark for sixth-form education, combining academic excellence with a commitment to fostering community spirit and providing students with life-changing opportunities.
