TALKING TEENS - parenting programme
Chiswick School is proud to have two trained facilitators of the Talking Teens Programme.
We understand how important and how challenging being a parent of a teenager is. As part of our wider commitment to supporting our community we run a parenting class which you are welcome to join.
The programme is facilitated by two of our pastoral staff and runs for 4 weeks.
- Week one looks at what it is like being a parent of a teenager, the role of parents and responding to difficult feelings your child may face.
- Week two focusses on understanding your teenager and their development. We look at different parenting styles and praise and critisism.
- Week three is about communicating with your teenager: talking and listening, communicating clearly and handling difficult issues.
- Week four then examines managing conflict. We will look at rules and boundaries, choosing how to respond and finally problem solving.
You will work with a group of parents in Chiswick School at a mutually convenient time - this is usually early evening. We aim for the sessions to be inclusive and interactive and hopefully fun and enlightening as well.
If you are interested in joining the Talking Teens programme then please register your interest at enquiries@chiswickschool.org and you will be added to the waiting list. As soon as there is a space then we will contact you to check your availability.
If you have any questions please do get in touch and we look forward to working with you.
You can also find a range of topics explored in our “PSHCE for parents” videos which are located in this Parents section of the website.
