BackYear 11 Geography Trip to Cornwall
Mr Hudson, Miss Ahmed and Miss Tirbhowan took a group of Year 11 students to Cornwall in the October half term. It was a fantastic opportunity to witness the geography we learn inside the classroom, outside in a different setting. As well as enhancing student's geographical knowledge and passion, it was also a great opportunity to connect with our students and create some amazing memories.
Our itinerary featured:
Day 1: We headed to the Cornish seal sanctuary to see the rescued seals from Cornish waters. On the route there, we also passed by Stonehenge. It was Ismail's birthday so we had a lovely birthday surprise back at the hostel.
Day 2: Eden Project and Perranporth beach. The Eden project is a case study we learn about in detail, and covers topics such as regeneration and biomes. We explored the many different biomes and even tasted some of the chillies!
Day 3: Tintagel Castle for some superb views!
We had a competition running throughout for the best image of the day. Our first prize was for the best picture of a seal, which Gaser won. Our second was for the best picture of a plant from the Eden Project which was won by Charlie. The final prize was won by our group of girls who won the scavenger hunt in the local town.
