Year 8 Macbeth Trip
The English department was lucky enough to be able to take our Year 8s to see Macbeth at the historic Globe Theatre across three separate days in September. We ventured down to Waterloo and had a lovely walk along the river to watch the great Scottish play. We took our space as groundlings and bore witness to a fantastic show full of supernatural soliciting, deadly deception and bloody battles. Macbeth is a thrilling text that our Year 8 students have been enthusiastically studying in class. To have this real world experience of enjoying Shakespeare’s play in its original setting is a memory we are sure our students will cherish forever.
