BackEarthquake Flood Appeal
On Friday 22nd September Sixth Form students dressed to celebrate their cultural heritage and to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco and the floods in India.
This was the first fundraiser of the term. During the Year 12 assembly students stood up to share their insights into their culture; even if they were not used to public speaking they put their nerves aside.
Taib, Mary, Juwon, Priscila, Parsa, Afig, Sarah and Belaal all put together entertaining and informative presentations which they shared with their fellow students.
The students raised £243.53 for the appeal.
The following Friday, students took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning by running a cake sale. These are always a popular addition to the school day, if a little manic, as students clamour to buy the cake they have been queuing for.
We will also be raffling a delicious chocolate cake made and donated by Josephine Smith.
