- Year 12 Sociology Trip
This term, the Sociology department were delighted to have the opportunity to take the Year 12 Sociology students to the annual A level Sociology conference at UCL. On the day, students were able to gain a real insight into the life of a sociologist and hear about the fascinating research studies that the sociologists are involved in. Students were particularly interested to hear professor Louise Archer speak on her study of ‘Nike identities’, which students have studied as part of their topic on Education. They also particularly enjoyed the lecture from professor Stephen Ball, in which students had the opportunity to consider ‘what is the purpose of school?’
The students described the day as inspirational and we are very happy that they enjoyed the experience, as well as having learnt from it.
