PTA Update

Welcome (back) to Chiswick School, to all our families. This is a hugely busy term, with a number of parent events planned, as well as Music and Performing Arts performances, many open to all parents/carers and students. Do take a look at all the upcoming dates, shared on our regular updates (“What’s Happening at Chiswick School?”), and the school website calendar. Do consider coming along to a Chiswick School event at school, or within the local community; it’s a great way to connect with other members of the wider community.

Thank you to all the new parents who have reached out already to find out how to get involved with Chiswick PTA - we focus on two main charitable aims, fostering community and fundraising to support enrichment activities and resources for the students. Our main fundraising activity is our monthly car boot sale: a fun, and hugely rewarding way to volunteer, which raises around £80,000 per year for the school, which benefits every single student at Chiswick School.

The PTA at Chiswick hosts uniform sales, parent forums and social events, as well as providing refreshments at Music and Performing Arts performances, fostering community through bringing parents and families together, as well as supporting school in sharing news of upcoming events through our parents’ WhatsApp groups, regular newsletters and on social media.

Looking forward to another great year,

Vic and Vernee, Co-chairs, on behalf of the PTA team

NEXT CHISWICK CAR BOOT SALE!!

SUNDAY 6th OCTOBER, 6.30am - 12.30pm

Thank you to everyone who supported the Car boot sales in August and September, in particular our incredible volunteers (made up of parents, past and present). We had two of the busiest sales we’ve had in years, with £23,000 being raised from just these two sales!!!

For those of you who are new to the school, these funds are absolutely vital to the school, and are used to support so many resources, and projects, for the benefit of all the students, across all departments and all year groups. It is an absolute joy to be able to support the school in this way, ensuring equity for all students and enhancing the school experience for students and teachers through funding enrichment activities and resources, which can’t be fully covered by the school budget.

Become a volunteer!

Can you help at the next sale? It is a great way to meet other parents, teachers, and members of our school community, while supporting the school - and enjoy a free coffee and toastie whilst wearing a walkie talkie and a high-viz vest! If you can help, or would like to join the volunteers list, please get in touch (emails below).

Don’t forget, you can also support the car boot sales by coming along as a buyer or a seller. For all the information you need, visit our website. Or follow us on Instagram for up to date announcements and updates.

UNIFORM SALE

Thank you so much to everyone who supported our recent uniform sale, through volunteering their time to sort and sell; donating uniform items and coming along!

We raised a fantastic £464.78! Our uniform sale in July, geared towards the new Year 7 cohort, raised a truly phenomenal £1150.95, showing just how vital provision of good quality pre-loved uniform is, not just for pockets but for the planet - reducing our textile waste, saving water and reducing carbon emissions. So thank you all for your support.

Between the two sales, our stock is now very low indeed and we are particularly short of PE kits. If anyone has donations of clean, good quality uniform in any size, please leave them in reception for “PTA”. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
