BackAfternoon Tea Party
On Wednesday 17th July Chiswick hosted an afternoon tea party for our local community as part of our Character initiative. We were delighted to host local grandparents, residents of St Mary’s convent and Nursing home, ex Chiswick School staff as well as some current invigilators. It was a lovely surprise to meet a gentlemen who was a pupil here in 1944.
There was a vast array of sandwiches and cakes provided by Miss Simmonds and Chiswick staff.
Some of the highlights were the choir singing Billy Joel and a wonderful version of ‘Postman Pat ‘, singing happy birthday to Margaret who turned 91 on the day, but most of all I was proud of our students who interacted with our visitors with ease and couldn’t have been more polite. A special thanks goes out to the staff who donated their time and efforts and the following pupils; Jamie M, Bahir S, Violett G, Bradley A, Sara Q, Sofia M, Amelia A, Harry R and all of the form reps who worked tirelessly on the day to make it a memorable event.
We have received some lovely emails from our guests. Below are a couple:
“First of all I would like to say thank you for a lovely afternoon. The tea and cakes were amazing. But most of all I would like to tell you how amazing the children who looked after us were polite chatting and thoughtful and helpful they are a credit to the school please pass on our comments to all involved.” - MC and BC
"Thank you very much for the delightful afternoon tea. The whole event was very well organised, and the young people were very welcoming and attentive. The refreshments were of a high standard (Ritz, look out) and the tables and crockery looked very pretty. I enjoyed the music (especially the drumming)." - JM
