BackDofE Practice Expedition
On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th June, a high number of Year 10 students completed their practice for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. This involved students mapping out a route as well as developing their skills in tent setups, cooking and their orienteering skills. Throughout the two days, our students focused on honing key skills crucial for their Duke of Edinburgh journey. Their excellent teamwork and communication were on full display as they navigated various tasks and obstacles. It was truly inspiring to see how effectively they collaborated, ensuring that each team member was supported and included.
One of the most commendable aspects of this expedition was the resilience shown by our students. As they were pushed out of their comfort zones, they faced challenges head-on and adapted with determination and positivity. This resilience not only helped them to overcome immediate difficulties but also strengthened their bonds as a team. This expedition provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to develop essential life skills and to demonstrate their growth in a challenging environment.
