BackYear 13 Prom
On a lovely summer’s evening on the 4th July, Year 13 students gathered together at Duke’s Meadow Golf Club for their Leavers event. Fresh from voting in their first General Election, they all looked stunning as they arrived for an evening of awards, food and dancing.
Proceedings began with Mr Williams and Mr Barrett presenting the subject awards to those students who have been recognised by their teachers as the outstanding student for their subject. Head students Kalan and Deena then both spoke eloquently about their time at Chiswick and their aspirations for the future. As is tradition the Marcus award was presented by Mr & Mrs Ames-Lewis in memory of their son Marcus, who passed away shortly after leaving Chiswick School Sixth Form. This award has continued for a quarter of a century now, and is voted for by the students themselves to recognize peers who are, like Marcus was, the life and soul of the Sixth Form. This year's worthy winners are Tasneem & Muhiadin who receive a cash prize. The last award to be presented was Student of the Year. Isabella Crocker won for her unyielding positivity and being a ray of sunshine from start to finish. Congratulations to all students for completing their studies - whether they were recognised with an award or not.
A delicious barbecue provided food for everyone, with students taking advantage of the photo booth to provide keepsakes of the night. Mr Mahon provided the music with the night culminating in Mr McNamara leading a rendition of the candy dance! A big thank you to Ms O'Callaghan, Ms Piven & Ms Prelevic who organised the evening. I’d also like to thank everyone who bought a raffle ticket, and the generous donation from Santis Global, both of which helped to reduce costs and pay for the extras such as the photo booth.
From the Sixth Form team and everyone at Chiswick School, we would like to wish Year 13 the best of luck in their future endeavours.
