BackYear 12 Dress as a Decade
A group of enterprising Year 12 pupils took the initiative and organised a charity collection day with a unique twist: a decade-themed dress-up event. This event was aimed at raising funds for those suffering from the resurging violence and genocide in Congo. The students chose to support the Friends of the Congo (FOTC) charity, a dedicated organization working tirelessly to provide aid and advocacy for affected communities.
On the day of the event, the pupils were heavily involved and it was great to see the double denim look come back, as well as an array of velour tracksuits that brought back memories of early 2000s pop culture. The enthusiastic participation from the Year 12s not only added a fun and nostalgic atmosphere but also significantly boosted the fundraising efforts.
By the end of the day, the Year 12 pupils had successfully raised a substantial amount of money, all of which was donated to FOTC to help provide crucial support and resources to the people in Congo facing extreme hardship. This initiative not only demonstrated the students' creativity and organisational skills but also their compassion and commitment to making a positive impact on global issues. We can’t wait to see their new ideas and initiatives during the final half term!
