It's been a successful and exciting start to the year for Chiswick school football. Seven out of eight Chiswick football teams made it through to the Middlesex Cup quarter final - a fantastic achievement. The Year 7 boys have progressed through to the semi finals with other games to follow. The Year 7 girls beat The Green School 8-0 in the league, however they narrowly lost their quarter final to Elthorne. Junior girls have continued their successful streak with another league victory against St Mark's.
The footballers also had an inspirational visit on Wednesday 24th January from a current QPR footballer Albert Adomah. Albert started his career at Old Meadonians, who were founded in 1929 by the Old Boys of Chiswick County Grammar School, which later became Chiswick School. Albert spoke to, coached and answered questions from the students after a whole school football tournament. The students were all extremely excited and inspired by Albert and his words of wisdom.
A huge win for the Year 10 netball team, beating local rivals the Green School 35-1. The rest of the netball teams have been training hard for their upcoming fixtures vs Cranford and Brentford alongside two borough competitions.
The basketball season has continued with Hounslow league games over various year groups. All the fixtures were tightly contested but unfortunately we failed to get a win.
Coming up in cross country we have seven runners taking part in the Middlesex Championship at Harrow School. We wish them all luck.
