Back'New Views' After School Club
Our ‘New Views’ after school club has been really popular this term. Students have been supported through these weekly sessions to develop their creative writing skills to write their own 30 minute play. They have also been working with a professional playwright who is mentoring the students throughout this academic year. They recently enjoyed their first visit from the playwright Stewart Melton who ran a creative writing workshop with them. As part of the programme students will also have a trip to the National Theatre to watch a play for free.
What the Students Say:
"I like it, it's a good opportunity to be creative and come up with ideas and I don't usually get a chance to do this. We get a lot of creative freedom to write our own project, we are not told to write about." - Molly B, Year 11
"It's very relaxed and has a lot of creative freedom. And the way it's structured doesn't feel like there's any pressure. It feels like it's something that's going to benefit you - it's not for grades or for teachers, it's personal." - Eva S, Year 11
