A Level Product Design in Action Inspiration Day
Year 13 Design and Technology students had a fantastic day at the Emmanuel Centre on 1st December. The KS5 Product Design inspiration day was both engaging and interactive and took students to the cutting edge in design. Five renowned speakers from a diverse range of disciplines gave the inside story; from an in-depth exploration of different materials to discovering how designs develop through sketches, modelling and CAD. The students particularly enjoyed the talk by Jude Pullen who is famous from the tv show ‘The Big Life Fix’, where he was one of the leading inventors who created ingenious new solutions to everyday problems and built life-changing solutions for people in desperate need.
As a result of attending this day, the students returned to school with renewed energy to tackle the challenges of their coursework projects.
