BackDuke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition
The students took part in their Duke of Edinburgh Silver expedition on the 9th, 10th and 11th September. Whilst we were happy for the sunshine, we didn’t quite want the 32 degrees that came on the Saturday and Sunday. With adjustments and considerations in place, we started the Silver Expedition from Chalfont and Latimer station.
The students were outstanding in the resilience and team skills necessary to overcome the challenges as well as showcase the skills needed to achieve their Silver Award.
With early morning wake ups to begin their walks before the temperature picked up, the 38 students were fantastic and kept their positive attitudes the whole way through! One group did come prepared with props to have laughs on their walks and at the campsite. They learnt a huge amount, not just team skills but individually as well. Their positivity did not drop even whilst at the train station, delivering their presentations for the assessment and finally getting onto the train home.
Well done to all the expedition students!
