Summer Festival

Despite the pouring rain, the last minute date and location change, this year’s Summer Festival was an all singing, all dancing triumph! We had wonderful performances from all of our school bands, as well as from the Chiswick School dancers and special guests from local primaries, Belmont and Cavendish. The small canteen was filled with exceptional student artworks from our examination years; the Enterprise Club created an incredible indoor Kids’ Zone, complete with DJ, and packed full of activities and games for all ages. There was also a wonderful selection of food and drink available: alongside the PTA bar and ‘cakes and bakes’ stall, we welcomed back Be’licious crepes and Non Solo Gelato, and were joined for the first time by the fabulous falafel stall, Lebanese Flavour. Thank you so much to all the parents and local businesses who donated so generously to the PTA tombola - we had incredible prizes from Damsel Boutique, Chiswick Lighting, Esska Shoes, The Queen’s Head, The Bell and Crown and local artist, Kristjana Williams. It was a joy to welcome so many new families to the Summer Festival, to see Chiswick School in full swing, before they join the school in September. We also had the chance to say goodbye to some of the students who are leaving: the evening closed with an emotional final performance from Year 13 band, Xing and the BackUps, who played to a huge crowd and received a massive, well deserved farewell cheer. It was an evening for the whole community to come together and celebrate a fantastic year; thank you to everyone who helped to make it such a success - and especially to all the fabulous Creative and Performing Arts teachers; the site team; the enterprise team; the parent volunteers; Ms Emmett and all the Senior Leaders; the teachers, students, staff, families and friends. We are delighted that the event raised almost £800!!

Chiswick Car Boot: June and July

June was a fantastic month for the car boot sale - we launched our new logo (thanks to Celia Pickering for the original design, and to James at the Pink Octopus for the digital version);we were included in Car Giant’s Top Ten London Car boot sales AND we saw the Chiswick car boot sale return to pre pandemic numbers, raising over £9500!!

July was also packed with buyers and sellers, received multiple five star reviews and fantastic feedback, wonderful social media interaction and raised just under £9000!

A huge and heartfelt thank you to every single 2022/23 Car boot volunteer and organiser, made up of current and alumni parents. They give up hours of time, energy and sleep, to support Chiswick School and its students and we are so very grateful. We are absolutely delighted to share with you that this year, since August 2022, the car boot sales have raised an absolutely extraordinary amount for the school: £60,282,00!

Next Sale: 6th August

If you would like to join our wonderful team of volunteers, at the August sale or in the future, please email us at pta@chiswickschool.org or info@chiswickcarbootsale.com. It is a wonderful way to meet other parents and members of our school community - while raising invaluable funds for the Chiswick School PTA Charity.

Performing Arts Shows

The PTA were delighted to support so many performances during June and July, offering refreshments (and, in the case of Charlie, a Victorian style sweet shop!) to the audiences at the Summer Concert (alongside exceptional cakes provided by the school chef, Robin); Charlie, dance show Ysgol and the Performing Arts awards, raising funds to support the incredible Performing Arts department. The PTA also works hard to share communication about upcoming events, as well as re-sharing updates from school, on year group WhatsApp groups, and via social media platforms Twitter and Instagram. To be added to the WhatsApp group for your year group, please email pta@chiswickschool.org.

Parent Forum

Thank you to everyone who came along to June’s Parent forum, and to our incredible caterer for the delicious meal. We heard from members of the teaching staff and the senior leadership team about the importance of work experience, how the careers programme runs at Chiswick School, and updates to the character development programme for next year.
