EAL Celebration Event
On Thursday 19th December, our EAL Department hosted an EAL Celebration Event for our newly arrived EAL students. Everyone shared their celebratory traditions and customs and brought traditional yummy treats from their home countries. The event was also a celebration of the students' progress and achievements in the EAL Literacy Programme that takes place in the library every morning.
"I received a certificate for 100% attendance and punctuality to the EAL Literacy Programme in the mornings! I enjoyed the celebration and learning about the Christmas traditions here in the UK - like the Christmas crackers where this crown came from!' (Ahmed, Year 8)
The EAL department would also like to give a special thanks to Ms Williams in the Library for her continued support with the EAL Literacy Programme and the volunteers who read with our EAL students every morning, without whom the programme would not be possible.
