BackRemembrance Assemblies
Students in Years 7-11 had assemblies to commemorate Remembrance Day, with a chance to reflect on the purpose of the day and discuss who we should be thinking about. Students across all five years really impressed with their confidence in putting forward their own ideas about the value of Remembrance Day; we had many fantastic contributions from all the groups.
There was a brilliant discussion at the end of each assembly about the ‘forgotten heroes’ of East Africa connected to the MP, David Lammy’s, campaign to ensure First World War soldiers from Kenya and Tanzania are properly memorialised. Chiswick students were eager to honour the two minutes silence the following Monday.
