Year 7 PSHCE Assemblies

Throughout the Spring term in their PSHCE lessons, Year 7s worked in groups to produce assemblies on an issue they felt passionately about. Their choices included topics such as: animal welfare, LGBT rights, plastic pollution, knife crime and mental health.

On Tuesday 30th April, one group was then chosen to represent each form in a showcase to parents and colleagues. Mr Mcloughin, Head of Year 7, along with Ms Sage judged the competition and commented: "I was so proud of the students who spoke so eloquently. It is a difficult undertaking to present to strangers and they did so with passion and confidence."

The winning groups (7 Grove - Plastic Pollution - Jackson, Miller and Gabriel and 7 Marlborough - Animal welfare - Emma, Nelli and Autumn) will be presenting their assemblies to the whole year group shortly.

The PSHCE team of Miss Kitteringham, Mr Ubor and Miss Leach valued the contributions of all the Year 7s throughout the term. "The pupils were thoroughly engaged from the start and it was obvious how much effort they have put in at home and at school. It is so encouraging to see pupils practicing their assemblies at lunchtime in the PSHCE area when the deadline is approaching. We look forward to seeing them again soon".
