Berlin Trip 2024
56 History and German students in Year 11 had the time of their lives at the beginning of March on a three day school trip to Berlin. We visited sites and memorials linked to the Weimar and Nazi periods in Berlin, as well as some crucial Cold War sites. From a very moving morning at Sachsenhausen Memorial (a former concentration camp), to long walks around the city, to a very competitive evening of bowling, we were never bored and always busy! The students impressed us with their engagement and thoughtful attitude all weekend, taking a genuine interest in learning more about their surroundings, bravely practising their German and taking care to look after each other on some very long days. They even willingly took some time out for a (very heated!) revision quiz to help prepare for their upcoming mock exams. The trip was a huge success and we look forward to taking the current Year 10s next year!
