Spring Speaker Programme
We have been incredibly lucky this term with our Spring Speakers, all of whom have given engaging and thoroughly interesting talks about a wide array of subjects. Gareth Shepphard, a forensic firearms specialist, spoke about the science of policing and his experience studying weapons for the Met Police. James Rodgers gave a fantastic talk about his experiences reporting from Russia, Gaza and Iraq and answered lots of thoughtful students’ questions about journalism. Finally, Geoff Morrow spoke about his long career songwriting for the likes of Elvis and Jessie J, and the experience of producing theatre and film. Students loved hearing all about his life in the arts. We have been so impressed with the attitude of our students in attendance, who have asked such mature and perceptive questions, especially the Year 7s!
We are looking forward to upcoming talks in the series by Tim Marshall, bestselling geopolitical writer and Hilary Benn, shadow cabinet minister, amongst others, and hope that these will be well attended.
