On Sunday 30 April Chiswick Voices embarked on their much anticipated trip to Oxford to sing a joint service of Choral Contemplation with the choir of Somerville College. Having only finished Vivaldi Gloria in March, the choir had less than a month to prepare for a service of five very demanding choral works, including Tallis’ If Ye Love Me, Imogen Holst’s Hymne to Christ, Rutter’s Thy Perfect Love, and a tear-inducing arrangement of Bob Dylan's To Make You Feel My Love. We were so lucky to not only have a private tour of the College by Leah, an alumna of Chiswick, but we were also treated to a phenomenal Sunday roast in the hall afterwards. We’re very grateful to Will Dawes and everyone at Somerville for giving us such a great day.
