Year 12 William Kentridge Exhibition visit
As part of their current printmaking project, Year 12 Fine Art students ventured into Central London to visit the William Kentridge exhibition at The Royal Academy. Students explored the thought-provoking political context behind Kentridge’s visually arresting printmaking, sculpture, animations, tapestries, and drawings, before taking inspiration from the beauty of his mark-making to inform their own issue-based artwork. They will be translating their work on themes ranging from grief and dyslexia to Georgia’s communist past into lino, collagraph and drypoint prints using the etching printing press kindly restored by the PTA.
