Debate Mate - Taking Talk Seriously!
This week, three Chiswick School debating teams participated in the 2023 Debate Mate Urban Debate League. A competitive turnout of 15 teams at Ark Acton Academy debated whether maths should be taught until 18 and whether the monarchy was a positive or negative influence on the country. Congratulations to our Year 9 team of Niamh, Logan, Jamie, Charlotte and Josh who won one of their debates. We are also very proud of newcomers to Debate Mate, our Year 7s, who also won one of their debates. Well done to Flo, Dylan, Tatiana and Lena in Team A and Marko, Hayden and Abdul in Team B. All three teams showcased the skills that they have been developing since September as part of the Debate Mate programme, a national programme dedicated to developing confident debaters.
