BackYear 11 GCSE Citizenship students visit the Houses of Parliament
Fortunately for the Year 11 GCSE Citizenship students their long awaited trip to the Houses of Parliament took place on the sunny afternoon of April 26th. We were incredibly lucky to sit in the balcony of both the Commons and the Lords. We even got to witness an amendment being carried by hand between the two houses. Throughout the tour we spotted some recognisable faces, catching a glimpse of Priti Patel in the chamber and Gavin Williamson in the gallery.
The highlight of the trip was observing the pupils taking part in a lively debate as to whether all transport should be made free for all under 18s.
Following the trip a student remarked “I would never have believed I could enjoy a trip so much.”
