BackSixth Form Charity Fundraiser
With the generous spirit of giving in their sights as Christmas approached, the 6th Form students had a decision to make. How could they raise money for people in need of help? More specifically, those in the desperate situation of having nowhere to call home.
For several years the students had run a successful pop up Valentine shop in February and decided that a Secret Santa Christmas shop could prove equally popular. Chocolates, candy canes, hot chocolate kits and personalised singing greetings were all to be on offer.
A small but efficient team took orders during every break time delivering the purchased treats during form time the next morning. Stock had to be re-ordered several times to meet the demand.
After 10 days of sales a fantastic profit of £403 was achieved along with many smiling recipients.
To add to the fund an impromptu raffle was held raising another £35, and the ever popular cake sale added a further £133 to the takings.
The 6th form were able to donate £200 to each of the following:
Crisis at Christmas (the homeless charity), Centrepoint (for homeless teens) and Refugee Council.
A fantastic effort!
