Year 11 Curry & Revision

Year 11s have just completed their Pre Public Exams and before the Half Term, we welcome all parents and carers in to join us for a “How to Revise” curry evening!

The evening was a success, with past Year 11 students welcoming visitors with material for the evening, including an exam timetable and a ‘Revision Support Booklet’ (essentially a step by step guide as to how to revise each subject).

Our community of parents, carers, students and staff helped themselves to dinner, a curry prepared by Tom, our Chiswick chef! Mrs. Barnes then welcomed parents and carers from a pastoral perspective. Ms. Green gave an overview of what support looks like for Chiswick students and gave a high level insight into what effective revision looks like, before handing over to Mr. Williams who gave an insight into Chiswick Sixth Form. Ms. Green then introduced each of our Curriculum Team Leaders for the core subjects and for select option subjects who gave an insight into how best to revise each subject in more detail.

The evening ended at 7pm prompt after questions from parents and carers. The key message was that at points the GCSE year can be complex, but it needn’t be complicated for the Chiswick community. Year 11 students have a team dedicated to supporting their progress and attainment and if they have any questions - they are welcome to ask!

Parents said of the evening “the meeting was excellent. I was impressed by the quality of all the presentations and speeches and the information provided was concise and highly relevant. I also liked the fact that it kept to a strict timetable. Please pass on the compliments to the whole team for a very well executed event” and “the team communicated very clearly on the evening, also it was great to meet other year 11 parents - thank you for organising the evening!”

It was our pleasure and we look forward to continuing to work together to support Year 11 as their success is ultimately up to them, but it truly is a team effort!
