Parent & Co-Chair of PTA
I have been a Chiswick School parent since our elder son joined in 2015 and he is now in his final year studying law at Oxford University. Chiswick provided him with a range of amazing opportunities - fantastic trips to Rome, Pompeii, Austria and Devon; visits from MPs and Members of the House of Lords which ended up with his A level Politics class being quoted in Hansard, the official record of Parliamentary debates; strong encouragement to enter various essay competitions, one of which he won, giving him a week’s work experience in a barristers’ chambers; and weekly singing lessons with the outstanding Ms James that allowed him to reach Grade 8.
Our younger son is currently in Year 11, enjoying a balance of serious academic challenge alongside the joy of daily singing with Chiswick Voices. I have been a member of the PTA (Parent Teachers Association) since 2019 and I am currently co-chair with Vic Robinson. It has been great to be able to give something back to the school but, honestly, the school continues to give us back even more. This past year, my husband and I have been lucky enough to be part of Mr Moxon’s Chiswick Community Choir, singing Fauré’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Choral Symphony alongside Ms James and the brilliant students in Chiswick Voices. I have a few more years left as a Chiswick School parent and I'm looking forward to discovering what else it brings!
