- Year 10 Trip to the French Institute
This term, the Languages Department had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 10 students to the French Institute for a film study day.
In the morning, students took part in a session led by one of the French Institute Ambassadors, where they explored and discussed the themes of the film Tempête by Christian Duguay. The session was delivered entirely in French, and our students showed great resilience and determination as they engaged with new vocabulary and complex ideas. They reflected thoughtfully on important topics such as disability and inclusion in elite sport.
In the afternoon, the group watched Tempête in the Ciné Lumière, the French Institute’s own cinema—an immersive and authentic experience that brought their learning to life.
It was a fantastic opportunity to deepen cultural and linguistic understanding, and our students represented the school with focus and enthusiasm throughout the day.
