PTA Update

International Women’s Day Coffee Morning – 7th March

On International Women’s Day, the PTA and senior leaders co-hosted a coffee morning to celebrate and thank the amazing women connected to our school.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect, and we were delighted to welcome parents, staff, governors, and students.

We enjoyed delicious refreshments and cakes, with special thanks to parent Basia for her homemade bakes and Cake Box for the enormous personalized cake.

A highlight of the morning was our incredible choir, who performed beautifully despite the early hour. We were also inspired by female students, teachers, and parents who shared stories about the women who have positively impacted their lives—whether through direct influence, work, or legacy.

It was a truly memorable morning, and we extend a huge thank you to everyone who made it possible!

March Car Boot Sale

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped in March, at what turned out to be a gloriously sunny car boot sale. Despite not being able to offer the whole of the field to sellers, due to rain the previous week, the March sale made an amazing £8,700!!

Buyers, sellers and volunteers were treated to a fantastic performance by the Junior Steel Pans in the midday sunshine: thank you to all the performers, their families, and the Music Department for making this happen.

Last year, the car boot sales raised just over £103,000 for Chiswick School - this is only possible because of the hundreds of volunteer hours put in by parents, past and present, each month. Without you, the sales cannot go ahead. Every penny raised goes back to the school to fund a huge range of projects, visits, workshops and resources.

And… Don’t forget, you can also support the car boot sales by coming along as a buyer or a seller. For all the information you need, visit our website. Or follow us on instagram for up to date announcements and updates.

Next Sale April 6th, 6.30 - 12.30pm

Parent Forum

Thank you so much to all the parents who joined us for this term’s Parent Forum. We heard incredibly useful guidance and practical tips from Ms Lounds on how to support improving attendance, both for our own children and the school as a whole. We also heard detailed information from Ms Thompson about PE: what is happening within the department currently, and development plans for the future.

Mrs Ellener shared news about the next phase of planning for the school and the key role parents play in the preparation for the governors and Senior leaders’ 5 year plan. Parents wishing to be part of this discussion group were asked to sign up during the evening, or to email enquiries@chiswickschool.org.

The evening ended with a really useful Q and A with parents and Senior Leaders, covering all sorts of topics and areas of interest. Once again, huge thanks to those members of staff and Senior Leaders who led the Forum; we are so lucky to have these wonderfully informative evenings.

PTA Refreshments Bars

Thank you so much to everyone who has volunteered this half term to help set up, serve and sell refreshments at some - or all - of the many events we have supported over the last few weeks:

  • Battle of the Bands
  • Junior Choir Concert
  • Parent Forum
  • Mahler 2
  • Nowruz Celebration
  • Jazz and Blues Concert
  • Dance Showcase

All profits raised from these events go back to supporting the students and enriching their educational experience. The funds raised are allocated to the department who is running the event, or for PTA run events, into the main PTA pot for all departments and year groups to access. It has been an incredibly busy half term and, from these events (with the dance show still to come at the time of writing), we have raised just over £2600!!

Quiz Night

Our annual Quiz Night, on 6th March, was a huge success. Parents, Governors, Senior Leaders, Teachers and members of staff came together to share a meal, diverse quiz questions - and raise funds for the school. Congratulations to the impressive winning team, Mr Insane, who just pipped the runners up, Madres Reales, on a tie break!

Our fabulous Quiz Master, Year 8 parent Rich, put together a hugely enjoyable quiz, including a very creative emoji round! Big thanks, too, to our school chef Tom, for the fabulous meal; the tireless site team for setting up, staying late and clearing up; to the many PTA volunteers for organising and advertising the event; Jo Duddy for coordinating ticket sales; and to our student helpers Lara, Melina, Declan, Harry and Martha.

David Lloyd Acton kindly donated a two week family membership for the ‘heads or tails’ prize, which was hotly contested - congratulations to Year 8 and 11 parent Aimee for winning this much coveted prize.

We are delighted to share that the evening raised a fantastic £1014 for the PTA: this will all go towards enriching opportunities for all the students. Thank you so much to everyone who supported the event - see you next spring!
