Chiswick Car Boot Sales: April and May

Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered at the April and May Car Boot Sales, which raised an incredible £25,100 for Chiswick School. WOW!

April’s sale also saw the arrival of our wonderful new Car Boot mascot: Bootsie the Bear! Bootsie can be found every month hunting for bargains, posing for photographs, and—of course—dancing to live music when we’re lucky enough to have Chiswick School musicians perform.

A special thank you to Year 9 band Thirteen for their fabulous performance in May (which also secured them a paid gig!). They collected £52 in donations for the school.

To learn more about the Car Boot, visit our website or follow us on Instagram for up-to-date announcements.

Last year, the Car Boot Sales raised just over £103,000 for Chiswick School—and we’re on track to exceed that this year. These sales are only possible because of the hundreds of volunteer hours contributed by parents, past and present. So THANK YOU! (And please sign up to be a volunteer!)

Easy Fundraising Donation Day

Thank you to everyone who supports Chiswick School via Easy Fundraising. This quarter we received £193.19— raised without any cost or effort to our supporters!

Sign up today—[here]—it only takes a few minutes. With just over 200 members, we’ve already raised £7,340.33. Please note our name on the platform is Chiswick Community School.

Parents’ Social

1st May 2025, ActOne Cinema

In early May, we hosted a relaxed and informal parents/ carers’ social at ActOne Cinema in Acton. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the event such a success.

It was great to see so many parents and carers from all year groups, share ideas, and give feedback. We hope we’ve also inspired a few more to help at the occasional Car Boot Sale!

PTA Refreshment Bars

The PTA has run three refreshment bars so far this term— for Revenge of the Sixth (which also raised funds for the Children’s Cancer Trust), the Piano Recital, and the Year 10 Recital.

All profits from these music events go directly to the Music Department to support students and enrich their learning —through the purchase of instruments, new microphones, and guest speakers and workshops.

Funds raised at PTA-run events go into the main PTA fund, accessible to all departments and year groups. Many more events are coming up after half term in Sport, Performing Arts, and Music. New volunteers are always welcome— drop us an email to be added to the event volunteer WhatsApp group.

Second Hand Uniform Sale

Thank you to everyone who supported this term’s uniform sale—it raised £245.94 for the school and helped reunite many lost items with their owners!

So far this academic year, we’ve raised £950 from second- hand uniform sales—amazing!

Our next sale will be during the Summer School for new Year 7 students; further details to be confirmed.
