Music Update

Sun 13 April | The 170th Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race race was abandoned after all spectators turned away from the river to hear Chiswick School Steel Band play instead.

Fri 25 April | Thirteen did their first headline show at the George and Devonshire, also featuring a new (and the seventh!) year 9 band ‘Verdict’. Dawn also supported and we saw guest appearances from Markos, Dylan, Josh and Harry. Catch up here

Tues 29 April | The Corelia Project did a seminar with GCSE and A Level students about Women composers: past and present. It was a great morning learning about over 1000s of female composers and the invaluable (and underappreciated) contribution they have made to the classical canon.

Tues 29 April | Amelia did her second full solo show at the Duck and Ball. We’re really starting to love this pub. Catch up here

Weds 30 April | The Refreshers did their first solo show at the City Barge, with perhaps the best song-to-song transitions we have ever seen. Catch up here

Fri 2 May | Uncle Dynamite and Parental Guidance returned to the G&D for more all-original Rock music.

Sun 4 May | Thirteen played so well at the Car Boot Sale that they were instantly booked by a primary school for their summer fair.

Tues 6 May | Revenge of the Sixth Markos and Soulcage put on a face-melting evening of Metal music, and ended with one of the most iconic metal songs of all time. Headbangers-extraordinaire Dawn and Avi also supported.

Thurs 8 May | Piano Recital Evening. Ms. Zhao put on an evening exclusively devoted to showcasing piano students, with a great variety of styles being performed. Catch up here

Sat 10 May | Chiswick Jazz Festival The Jazz band opened the entire event, now in its second year at St Peter’s Acton Green. We were also blessed with lots of upcoming talent who were there to be supporting acts for us.

Fri 16 May | Thirteen did their third gig in 3 weeks, this time at the City Barge, and once again supported by the much-in-demand Dawn

Tues 20 May | Year 10 recital evening We had 15 members of year 10 perform solo on voice, drums, violin, bass, and guitar, and had some incredibly heart-warming debuts

Weds 21 May | Carnage, Dawn, The Eclipse, and Heaven all did their own City Barge show, with some lovely debuts and audacious dress codes. Catch up here

Friday 30 May | Harry returned to the Duck and Ball for a series of ‘Favourite’ songs from years past.

News & Key Dates for Next Term.

Any new Year 7 parents for Sep 2025 - We have a new trailblazer’s scheme, exclusively for Orchestral instruments. Pay £44 per term (much cheaper than 1-2-1 lessons) for small group tuition in the following instruments: Violin, Cello, Trumpet, French Horn, Euphonium, Trombone, Clarinet, Saxophone, and Flute. Sign up at the bottom of this form if you are interested.

If you have signed up for a music exam - payment will come through Parentmail in the next two weeks. Trinity exams are 30 June, and ABRSM exams are Weds 2 July
